How to Be Sue Sylvester for Halloween

Disclaimer: In no way am I Sue Sylvester or Jane Lynch and in no way do I own Glee or am I Glee's fashion stylist.

And honestly, I'm glad I'm not.

I like Glee, but it's not one of my favourite shows. I'll watch it if it's on and I watch it with my sister every Tuesday, but if I ended, I wouldn't care. I would move on and only listen to the songs occasionally, because let's face it, their cover of Toxic was amazing. I DETEST Rachel Berry- she is obnoxious and insanely annoying. I know she's supposed to be annoying and OMG I'M GONNA BE SO SUCCESSFUL AND YOU'RE GONNA BE A DEADBEAT, but holy cow, I just hate her. I'm also not a fan of Finn- he's an idiot and he CANNOT sing. Every time I hear him sing, I cringe. He's got the perfect look for Finn, stupid-looking and easy to fall under peer pressure, but dude, he sings so badly that they should auto-tune him and let another person sing.

My favourite character is Sue Sylvester and I think she's everybody's favourite character. Either that, or Mr. Schue, who to me isn't THAT great. To me, he seems kind of a jerk and he needs to stop pursuing Emma. After all, he did promise Carl that he would back off, but no, he didn't, at all. It's really easy to be Sue Sylvester for Halloween and because Glee is such a popular show, a lot of people will know who you are, especially if you start shouting her hilarious one-liners. Here are a few steps for being Sue Sylvester for Halloween or even all the time, if you really love her that much:

1. Get some temporary blonde dye (if you already have short hair) or get a blonde short wig.

2. Her tracksuits are usually:
black/gold
red/white
blue/light blue
pink/white

And they are all Adidas branded, so if you can get an Adidas brand tracksuit, that would be awesome. But any tracksuit in that colour would work fine.

3. Under her tracksuits are a plain white tank top, because she doesn't zip them all the way up. You can get plain white tank tops everywhere for really cheap and you should even have them in your closet right now. If you don't, your wardrobe must be a mess, no joke.

4. You'll need a whistle to hang around your neck and you can find these at the dollar store (like Dollarama, The Dollar Tree...) and you can randomly blow it and then use your megaphone to shout out a random incredibly popular one-liner. Whistles are amazingly inexpensive, so no worries about this breaking your bank.

5. A megaphone might be one of the expensive pieces of your Halloween costume, other than your Adidas tracksuit. Visit your local Wal-Mart/Target/Superstore (or any other Loblaws store)/SporkChek/other sports stores/Radio Shack/maybe even Futureshop for a megaphone. There are also some on Amazon, so you can get some from there for around $11, which is fairly cheap. A megaphone is something I would not buy for a costume, but hey, there are people out there who buy costumes that they can make for themselves. So, it's not like it's that big of a deal, right?

6. Wear your regular sports sneakers. Ones from Nike, FILA, Puma, Reebok, Adidas, or any other sport brands are great, but you probably have them at home already. Just don't wear any skate shoes or canvas shoes like Converses or those with stupid huge flaps. Those just look ugly and Sue Sylvester would NEVER wear something like that.

7. Get a clipboard from Dollarama or Staples or any other office supply store. I saw a clipboard at Dollarama the other day, so that's a cheap accessory for a Halloween costume. On the clipboard, you can print out a few Sue Sylvester one-liners that you can shout through your megaphone, so you don't actually have to memorize them.

8. Shout a one-liner now and then and if that specific one-liner or particularly rude comment is shouted at a character during the show, shout it at a similar person who has Emma's red hair or is as annoying as Rachel Berry. Here are a few of my favorites but you should definitely compile your own list:

Sue: I'm secretly hoping it's a mid-life crisis, meaning your halfway to an early death.

Sue: I'm seriously gonna puke in your mouth.

Sue: I spent large segments of each day picturing you choking on food, and I recently contacted an exotic animal dealer because I had a very satisfying dream that I once shoved your face into one of those pink-inflamed monkey butts.

Sue: I'm gonna make it a habit to not stop and talk to students because this has been a colossal waste of my time.

Sue: I might buy a small diaper for your chin, because it looks like a baby's ass.

Sue: You're just like every teenage girl in America: obsessed with vanity. Before you know it, you'll be leaving baggies of vomit in your parents' closet.

Sue: My parents were famous Nazi hunters, so they weren't around a lot.

Sue: You think this hard. I'm passing a gallstone as we speak. That is hard!Sue: You think this hard. I'm passing a gallstone as we speak. That is hard!

"I'll often yell at homeless people: 'Hey, how is that homelessness working out for you? Give not being homeless a try, huh?' "

"I don't trust a man with curly hair. I can't help picturing small birds laying sulfurous eggs in there, and I find it disgusting." *obviously, man could be substituted with guy to make it more high-school friendly*

“I’m going to ask you to smell your armpits. That’s the smell of failure, and it’s stinking up my office.”

"This year, I got myself a bit of an eye-lift. While they were there, I told them to tear out my tear ducts. Wasn't using them."

"All I want is just one day when I'm not visually assaulted by uglies and fatties. Seriously, Ohio, these retinas need a day off."

"We're dealing with children. They need to be terrified. It's like mother's milk to them. Without it, their bones won't grow properly."

Well, I hope you were a very successful Sue Sylvester and that you offended many, many people. :D

Week 4 School Outfits

lundi, mardi, mercredi

Yes, I have Week 4 of School Outfits. I basically wore everything I said I was going to last week, with a few different choices in footwear and I forgot that there was no school on Friday. However, this is a whole school week coming up soon and I'm actually really excited for my Monday outfit. I couldn't find any graphic tee that matched with the one that I was going to wear, so I just went with a normal generic graphic tee. I also went shopping, so there are a few new clothes in my closet. But I also feel guilty, because I spent $70 on 11 items, which is pretty good when you actually think about it.

Monday: Graphic Tee from Urban Planet- $8
H&M SQIN Dark Wash Skinny Jeans from H&M- $12.65
Laguna Black Flip-Flops from Wal-Mart- $4

The graphic tee I'm wearing says: "Practice Safe Lunches. Use a condiment."
It is ABSOLUTELY hilarious, lol! I love it so much. It's a baseball tee style with shorter sleeves, reaching your elbow. It's skimpy material, but it doesn't show my skin through it or anything, so it's good. The contrasting colour to the white is a dark flat red, so it's not bright and people can focus on the adorable picture. I love this shirt so much and I'm really glad I got it for $8

total outfit: $24.65

Tuesday: Black Cardigan with Pockets from Urban Planet- $0.01 (on an awesome sale!)
Loose Blue Flowy Tank from Bluenotes- $5 (but is my sister's, so I didn't buy it)
Light Wash Straight Jeans from Urban Planet- $10
Flats with Gromets from Ardene- $12.50

I've worn this outfit before and I got a lot of compliments. People were telling me how cute I looked all day and due to the success, lol, I'm gonna wear the same thing on Tuesday. I'm not really sure yet about the jeans though. The light wash jeans that I'll wear might contrast too much with the overall darkness, so if that actually happens, I'll just wear a pair of dark wash jeans, either my godsend pair of H&M jeans or my pair of dark jeggings. The flats are really cute and I think it goes well with the whole outfit, tying it together.

total outfit: $27.51

Wednesday: teal baseball tee from Urban Planet- $3
black tank top from Ardene- $7.50
medium wash bootcut jeans from Old Navy- no idea. It was already in my closet, lol.
Blue Stars converse-style shoes from Express- $7.50

This teal baseball tee is totally pissing me off. It's really hard to wear, because it is so translucent! It makes me so mad, because I have to wear a nude bra and even then, it still shows through. I've decided to wear it with a black tank top under, otherwise you'll be able to see my bra full-on. The black tank top doesn't make it look very good, but it's better than a white tank top. For some reasons, all my white tank tops show up really well under this baseball tee and that just won't do. At least with the black tank top, it's not very obvious, thank God. I'm wearing this with one of my favorite pair of jeans- a pair of bootcut-ish jeans that hug my butt and actually fill it out, because I have no butt whatsoever.

total outfit: $18

jeudi, vendredi

Thursday: blue plaid shirt from Bluenotes- $16
Dark jeggings from Urban Planet- $8
White/Blue sneakers- didn't buy it

I'm going for a cool and collected look for Thursday, with a cute plaid shirt that'll be buttoned most of the way, with one button unbuttoned for good measure. I wear this plaid shirt at least once a week, because I love it so much. It's comfy for one thing and it looks really good and casual when the sleeves are rolled up. I'm going for a pair of sneakers with a pair of dark skinny jeans, because this plaid shirt doesn't look good when worn with lighter coloured jeans.

total outfit: $24

Friday: Graphic sweater from Ardene- $7.50
Distressed skinny jeans from Bluenotes- $12
Purple flip-flops from Old Navy- $3

This graphic sweater is one of the new ones that I bought on my recent shopping trip. It's absolutely adorable and it's actually really comfy. The sleeves are well-made and it's sticks to your arm lightly, so it's not too loose yet too restricting. I also like the hem on the bottom, almost making it look like there's another layer. This graphic sweater has a girl's face on it with a tattoo of a heart on her cheek and then it says, "I don't need anything (but you)" and it's really cute. Because it's also sort of grungy, I paired with it with a pair of distressed skinny jeans to further the edgy look. To add a pop of colour along with those tattooed hearts that are the only pop of colour so far, I added a pair of purple bright flip-flops. Comfy and great for hanging out.

total outfit: $22.50

total outfits from the entire week: $116.66

Week 3 School Outfits

monday tuesday

This is my Week 3 school outfits and although I've only been in school for 2 weeks, I already love my class and the people in them. Sure, my math teacher totally sucks, but dude, I'm having lots of fun. I was also complaining about how none of my best friends were in the class but now that I look at it, it gives me more of a chance to branch out and make more friends. In Gr. 8, I always stuck with Wendy, because she's one of my best friends, but I never got the chance to know other people in my class very well. There also weren't a lot of girls that I liked and there were around 12 girls in my class. I only liked 6 of them, so.. now I have 14 girls in my class and they're all really nice, except for one here and there.

monday:
Obama tee from Urban Planet- $5
Grey oversized cardigan from Urban Planet- $7.25
Light wash skinny jeans from Urban Planet- $10
Turquoise flip flops from Old Navy- $3

Wow, is it me or do I seem like an Urban Planet groupie, lol? Anyways, this is the Monday look and I like it, because it's simple. I may wash the cardigan, because it honestly is pretty humongous. Hopefully, the washing machine will shrink the cardigan. It shrunk my other oversized one and although it looked really good before, it looks even better now because it's smaller. The skinny jeans are a little bit too big for me, so I'll probably fold them up.

total outfit: $25.25

tuesday:
Blue plaid shirt from Bluenotes- $16
Grey v-neck striped shirt from Joe Fresh- $4.95
SQIN dark wash skinny jeans from H&M- $12.65
Blue converse-style shoes from Express- $10

I'm going to be handing in my resume on Tuesday to 7-11 and I also have a volunteer session, so I want to look casual yet presentable. I remember when I asked for an application I was wearing an oversized school t-shirt and mud-caked distressed skinny jeans. Not very cute, so I want to fix that by wearing something like this, where I look like I actually tried. At school, I'll probably wear the plaid shirt more as a cover-up/cardigan and have it unbuttoned, so people can see the striped shirt more clearly. It's a more boyish less-fitted look, so it's very nice and casual. For the volunteer session and handing in my resume, I'll probably button it all the way up, leaving 1 button unbuttoned. The shoes from Express are very American, but I'm Canadian, lol. I just like this pair of shoes, even though it takes a REALLY long time to untie. It's annoying.

total outfit: $43.60

wednesday, thursday, friday

wednesday:
grungy band tee from unknown: was already in my closet
white tank top from Urban Planet: $3
black jeggings from Urban Planet: $12.50 (i got them for 8 bucks)
white sneakers: already had them

This is the grungy look that I posted already. I just couldn't find the shirt over again. I really like this outfit, because I feel it's another side. It's important not to limit yourself to 1 style, so I try to vary my styles. Preppy, casual, athletic, grungy, etc. You can find band tees everywhere and I suggest getting one of the smaller ones, the ones that would show your stomach slightly if you wore it without a tank top. Those are the super cute ones and don't overwhelm your body.

total outfit: $15.50
total outfit with sale price: $11

thursday:
red shirt from Abercrombie and Fitch: already in my closet, did not buy it
white tank top from Urban Planet: $3
black cardigan from Urban Planet: $0.01 (was on sale and I don't know what the original price was)
light wash skinny jeans from Urban Planet: $10
flats with gromets from Ardene: $12.50

It's Red and White day at my school and basically, it's like a Canada/Welcome Day to our school and it leads to the Canada Dance. I'm not going to the dance, but I love spirit days. I have this old school Abercrombie and Fitch long-sleeve tee that's probably AT LEAST 5 years-old and fits me well. Paired with a white tank top and black pocket cardigan, it's a really cute spirit look. I would still wear it even if it wasn't spirit day. I was just kind of saving it for this day. I paired with light skinny jeans to lighten up the outfit, because dark wash skinny jeans would be too much. To complement the dark cardigan, I'll be wearing these AHDORABLE flats I got from Ardene. I love them to death, seriously.

total outfit: $25.51

friday:
Love Runs Deep v-neck tee from Ardene: $5
Black faux fur jacket from Urban Planet: $10 (was a gift, so I didn't pay for it)
SQIN dark wash skinny jeans from H&M: $12.65
FILA athletic jogging shoes: was not bought by me and I have no idea how much it costs

On Friday, I would usually wear something more casual, but I decided on this look. It combines an athletic and warm look, so it works really well. The jacket's a little bit too small for me and the v-neck is longer, so it creates a really cute almost cropped look. I'll wear dark wash skinny jeans with this look to go with the dark jacket and the athletic shoes are just there for comfort. They don't look very good and this look would probably be cute with a pair of PUMA jogging shoes, but I really like them and they're good for slipping in and out quickly.

total outfit: $27.65

TOTAL WEEK OF OUTFITS: $137.51

Exercise

Yes, I do in fact exercise. Just so you know my stats: I'm 14, 5'2, 105 lbs, and I have a BMI of 19.2. My stats make me sound fairly skinny but trust me, I'm not. I look on TV and there are these gorgeous skinny women, but the one who's body I constantly envy is Alyson Michalka. I know, weird, considering you don't get to see her body much, but seriously, pop on Hellcats and you will see her amazing abs like 24/7. You see her abs and your jaw will drop, because they are so amazing. I'd like to get abs like that one day.

Here is my fitness plan that I use to maintain my weight:

Monday: 15 minutes strength training in the morning
10 minutes strength training later
20 minutes of Couch to 5k (but will go up as the times extend)

Tuesday: 15 minutes strength training in the morning
10 minutes strength training later
20 minutes of Couch to 5k

Wednesday: 15 minutes strength training in the morning
15 minutes strength training later
15 minutes of hard running

Thursday: 15 minutes strength training in the morning
10 minutes strength training later
20 minutes Couch to 5k

Friday: 15 minutes strength training in the morning
10 minutes strength training later
20 minutes walking my dog

I do 45 minutes of exercise 5 days a week, excluding Gym and walking, to maintain my weight. I lost 9 lbs over the summer and although I don't want to lose anymore weight, I still want to get a better figure. Is that even possible? Like to lose fat without losing weight? Hmm, maybe I should float off to Yahoo Answers. Yes, I want a flat stomach, but doesn't every girl? Well, probably not, but whatever. I try to eat around 1200 calories every day, but today, I ate 1700 calories, which is kind of crazy. ANYWAYS, this is what I'll do until it starts getting colder and it starts snowing, until I can't even run outside anymore, because that would suck.

Back to School CLOTHES!

YAYYYYY!

I went shopping today with my sister and it was totally awesome. Have I mentioned how much I love shopping? No?

Well, OMG, I LOVE SHOPPING.

So, I went to 2 malls today and we went to like the Loser Mall (because it's a really bad mall, but it has an amazing Urban Planet) and another mall, which was a lot more popular, thank God. I got some really great stuff, but I also spent a lot of money. I don't really have pictures, but I'll try to find some similar pictures. I spent about $82 and that's actually a lot for me. I usually only spend about $40-$50 dollars and I have about 3 of those little shopping trips, but man, I just couldn't help myself.

The moment I swiped my debit card for Old Navy, I immediately felt liberated and I was like, "Oh my god, I wanna use my debit again!" And yeah, I did, lol.

Urban Planet-

Grey Cardigan- $6.50

So, I got a grey cardigan, because I love cardigans. Now, I have a black, grey, and blue striped cardigan. Cardigans are awesome because you can change a summer outfit into a more school appropriate outfit, which is always awesome. This grey cardigan I picked up at Urban Planet actually doesn't really have buttons. It has really weird hooks, but that's okay, because I'm highly unlikely to use the weird little hooks. I'm not really fond of cardigans that don't have pockets (my striped blue one doesn't), so I'm glad this one has it. It's very long and would probably look better on a taller person, but whatever. It's a cute cardigan. xD

Colour of my cardigan is SLIGHTLY (like super slightly) darker than shown in picture.

Super Skinny Jeggings- $8.17

Yep, I got a pair of jeggings! Jeggings are so in right now, but the great thing about it is that it looks like a pair of jeans, so it never really goes out of style. These jeggings are a really nice black colour with a light thread, so it provides a really nice contrast with the black colour. I like this pair of jeans, because it's a really dark wash. Dark washes are really in right now, but again, jeans are always in season. This would be great with a lighter top, like a light-blue plaid shirt would be so cute with this. If you wore a lighter shirt with a darker cover-up, it could be a really nice and balanced outfit. I'll debut this awesome pair of jeggings on next Thursday, which will be the 5th day of my school week. I go back this Thursday, so I only have 2 days of school and then I have a 3-day weekend because of Labor Day.

Bluenotes

Blue Plaid Shirt- $16

This is a really small picture, so I apologize. However, that means less to write and less for you to read, lol. So, this plaid shirt that I bought is a little more colourful, with some greens thrown into the mix. It's a really cute plaid shirt and it's a lot more than I would've honestly paid for plaid, but it was really cute and there was honestly no other plaid shirt out there. I gotta iron it, because it's really wrinkly (and that's not a cute look, trust me). I'll probably debut this with the above pair of jeggings next Thursday and this would be really cute with it. To make the outfit less new and less like you're trying to show off, I would pair it with a pair of normal flip-flops that just makes the outfit more casual.

Give Peas a Chance Graphic Tee- $5

I was supposed to get 2 graphic tees, but whatever. The graphic tees that were available at my Bluenotes weren't very good and this was the only one that I really liked there. So, 5 bucks for a graphic tee is pretty good. Mine is actually not dark grey- the background is actually a nice teal colour and this is from Urban Heritage, instead of Streetwise Society, I believe.

Urban Heritage has better quality, although it's the same as Streetwise Society. It's just that the shirt is thicker, so it doesn't stick to your body as much as the Streetwise Society stuff. So, not only is this much better quality than all the SWS crap, it's also really cute. You might think there'll be like a green overdose, but it actually looks really good.

Old Navy

Women's Classic Flip Flops in Teal and Purple: $3 each

So, these are just the normal everyday flip-flops. They're not as comfortable as the flip-flops that I got from Wal-Mart, but they're a lot cheaper. I wish there were more printed flip-flops, but there weren't any in my size so I had to go with the normal coloured flip-flops. Sure, these are classics, but I think the printed ones would have looked a lot better. I can wear this in autumn, fall, and summer, so I thought I better stock up on some flip-flops for school. In total, I have about 7 shoes that I can wear during school, but only 3 during winter, which will be really harsh. Old Navy needs to get better prints for their flip-flops, seriously, because prints are just so much cuter than 'classic' stuff.

Ardene
Flats with Grommets: size 6 $12.50

So, these flats are from Ardene. Yes, yes it is.

It's a little different from the shoe shown here. It's black, but there aren't so many grommets and they're mostly placed at the top of the flat. All the grommets are also just a plain silver colour. It's really comfy, although the flats are just a little bit too big for me, so I hope my feet grow soon, lol. I was really contemplating getting this and honestly, I'm really glad I did. It's comfy and it's adorable! Grommets seem to be everywhere this season, but hey, cute never goes out of style. And gosh darnit are these flats cute.

H & M

SQIN Low-Rise Straight Leg Jeans: $12.59

This is actually my first item EVER bought from H&M.

Lame, right?

I know, but I'm cool enough to pull it off.

I am so EXCITED by this buy. It's not really straight-leg, because it's super skinny on me. I might just have big calves, but I don't, so it's actually a skinny jean. The jeans actually look really alike (the one in the pic and the one in real life), except the one in real life might be a little bit darker. I don't know. I haven't had a lot of time to gaze at my ultimate treasure.

SQIN jeans are usually 35-50 dollars, so I am so lucky to have bought this at $13 dollars. I almost feel like I'm stealing. It's a really nice dark wash pair of jeans, so it's great and can go with anything. While you can't pair light-wash jeans with light colours, you can pair dark washed jeans with almost anything. Thank God for little treasures, or else there would be nothing to live for.

I'm joking, I'm sure there's a lot of other stuff that you guys would live for. Me, I live for a good deal. So, I bought 8 clothing items, 1 book (The Sorceress for my sister), 1 little journal, and it all came up to $82.28. It's not that bad, but again, it's a lot more than I usually spend. I can't wait for my first day of school. EEEEKKK! I need to go create cute outfits with all the new stuff I bought.

Shopping List

YAY! I'm going to go shopping on Saturday. Of course, my sister and I still have to ask our parents, but hopefully, they'll say yes. Unfortunately, I don't have $100 bucks to splurge on the stuff on my wish-list, so this is a list of things I WILL actually buy when the time for shopping comes. I'll probably spend around $60, which is actually quite a lot, but don't make me feel guilty than I already am. We're going to both Deerfoot and Sunridge Mall, because Deerfoot Mall has an AMAZING Urban Planet and Sunridge has H&M and American Eagle, blah blah blah. Seriously, the Urban Planet at Deerfoot is freaking GORGEOUS. It is literally h-uge. That means that it has a bigger clearance center and I can find some really cute stuff for MUCH cheaper. Sunridge is really nice, but it has a much smaller Urban Planet. It's also really far away by bus.

1. Bluenotes As Amazing as Me tee: $8 (will be $6 if I buy another graphic tee)

If my sister decides to buy a graphic tee, I probably won't buy this tee, although now looking at it, I'm also completely in love with it. It's adorable and I love how it's a lime green pop of colour, instead of all those girly pink salmon colours which I hate. Not to mention, it's would be really cute for those t-shirt and graphic tee jean look or that graphic tee with slouchy capris. I would grab a large, because this is actually really figure-hugging. If it's large, then you can just slouch it up to hide the fact that you don't have a flat stomach. The only con is that the sleeves are short and they make my arms look absolutely horrible.

2. Bluenotes Cherry Blossom graphic tee: $8 ($6 if I buy another graphic tee)

This is seriously amazing. It's so pretty! I'm Asian, so I like how they have some chinese characters down there. Of course, they don't really make any sense, because I think it says pretty, love, and then the last one I can't read. This is a v-neck, which is perfect, because I don't like those that like practically suffocate you and feel like you're about to die from strangulation. Again, sleeves are really short, but pair it with a cute cardigan and you're good to go. So $12 isn't bad for 2 graphic tees and I actually almost hope that my sister doesn't want a graphic tee, although I'll be saving money, because I love them both so much.

I also have a 20% off coupon, so my total would be $8.40, which is pretty FRACKING AMAZING!

3. Urban Planet Jegging: $12.50

Their jeggings are really cheap. They're also having a sale where you buy once pair of jeans, you get the other 1/2 off. If I bought 2 jeggings, it would cost me $18.75, which isn't all that bad for 2 pairs of jeans, however faux they might be. I might be able to convince my sister to buy a pair of jeggings, although she still needs to go buy a pair of distressed skinny jeans. She sold the pair of distressed skinny jeans that WE SHARED to one of our other sisters (who lives in Ottawa) and so now, she has to go buy another pair before I kill her. I like the dark colour jeggings better, because it seems less tacky than just the normal denim blue. If I don't buy a pair of jeggings, I'll probably just go for one of those $10 jeans in the clearance section that are super nice and really affordable. I'm actually wearing a pair of those $10 jeans right now. It's light wash and it's really comfy and cute.

4. Urban Planet Plaid Shirt: $10

Okay, so, I honestly don't know whether a plaid shirt will be available at Urban Planet, because I'll only buy it if it's $10 or under. This one is listed at $19.99, but I've seen a lot of $10 plaid shirts at Urban Planet in the clearance section. I want a red plaid shirt, because it'll work well for my Canada Spirit Day at school and red seems to be the cutest. However, if the cutest one there is blue, I'm totally going for the blue. I honestly have no plaid shirt, which is so sad, because I'm about 1 year late on the whole plaid trend. I really want a plaid shirt, but you know, I'm not going to weep if there isn't a good one out there. My friend will probably thank me, seeing as she doesn't like plaid, lol. The rest of us are like, "WTH? Why?"

5. Old Navy Printed Flip-Flops: $3

Old Navy actually have some pretty cute flip-flops. The flip-flops are originally $5, but if you buy 2 (like I'm planning to), you get them for $3, which is pretty good if you ask me. I honestly don't really like Old Navy stuff, because I think they're pretty ugly. However, I'm signed onto their newsletter and I got a 30% off coupon! So I'll only be paying $4.20 for 2 pairs of flip-flops. To think I bought a pair flip flops from Wal-Mart for $4. However, those are SUPER comfy and I love them to death. It'll be good to have different flip-flops that I can wear to school at the start of fall and autumn.

6. Old Navy Printed Flip-Flops: $3

Again, these are some really cute flip-flops. Those were the ones that I wanted the most, because they're so colourful. They automatically jump out at you and I really love the colours, which I've said about twice, just in different wording, lol. If Old Navy has a cute tote bag, I'll probably get one as well. However, I looked on their online shopping place and honestly, their tote bags are cute but pretty expensive. I love tote bags and I have about 3, 2 which I use very often. So, I want another tote bag which I can switch around. I might even bring some tote bags to school, where I don't really have homework and I don't really have much to bring.

This equals up to about $35.10. That's pretty good for 6 items, although I'll probably buy some extra stuff in the clearance section, so I always want to bring enough money for all that extra stuff I'll buy. I'm also buying The Sorceress for my little sister for her birthday at Chapters, so I'll have to reserve at least $15 aside from that.

First Day of School Outfit

My First Day of School Outfit

1. Grey V-Neck Tee with Pocket: $3 from Urban Planet
2. Distressed Skinny Jeans: $10 from Bluenotes
3. Flip-Flops: $4 from Wal-Mart
4. Tote Bag: $10 from some store in Calgary
5. NYC Blushable Creme Stick in Plaza Pink: $4.19, but I got it for 1 dollar off
6. NYC Eyeliner in Brown: $1.39
7. NYC Eyeliner in White: $1.39

This is such a simple outfit, which is great for school, because you don't want to look like you're trying too hard. It's still a pretty summery outfit, due to the fact that I'm going to be wearing flip-flops, but it's a totally chill outfit. For my makeup, it'll be super simple- just some white eyeliner on my waterline, then brown eyeliner covering it up slightly. Then, using the NYC Blushable Creme Stick, I'll just use it to get some really pretty cheek colour. My hair is going to be really simple too, because you don't want to mislead anyone. Show your personality through in your first day of school outfit, just maybe a little dressier than usual. I'm just going to blow-dry my hair, create my normal side part, and prevent frizz by using Garnier Anti-Frizz serum.

Back to School Hair

Back to School hair is important, because it can make or break an outfit. Wear a sloppy bun that's practically falling out with a cute blazer and high-waisted skirt and the outfit is practically ruined. It looks so unbalanced that your outfit just looks lame and almost fake. These are a couple of super cute hairstyles that anyone can wear easily to school. Sure, they might not be incredibly unique, but hey, at least it'll look cute.

1. Blair Waldorf Bun:
-you can curl your hair or just leave it straight. Curling your hair will make it look cuter, but if you don't have enough time, just opt for straight or your natural hair.

-put your hair back into an almost side ponytail. Then, scrunch up your hair and twist, until it's a cute messy bun.

-secure with bobby pins or a hair-tie. Accessorize with a bold-colored headband.

2. High Bun:

-gather your hair into a high ponytail. Scrunch and twist into a bun.

-secure with a hair tie and accessorize with a cute clip. You can either use sometime loud or just something cute like a little bow clip.

-this would be perfect with a casual look, like a pullover hoody and some skinny jeans.

-the accessory is not needed, because this look will still look cute anyways

3. Wavy Hair:

-you can always curl it normally with a curling iron, but those look too perfect

-the day before, spritz your hair with water

-part your hair into 6 sections, then braid them loosely and secure with a hair tie. Then, go to sleep

-wake up and make sure to use a shower cap when you shower.

-use an anti-frizz serum to prevent your wavy hair from getting too frizzy

-use Aussie Sprunch Catch the Wave hairspray and spritz it into your hair, scrunching it into your hair

4. Curly Hair with Headband
-you can curl your hair with a curling iron or curl your hair with socks for a messier look with no-heat

-separate your hair into 8 sections

-take a sock and roll each section up, like a curling iron, then secure with a knot. Do that for all the sections

-go to sleep and when you wake up, use a shower cap when you shower

-use an anti-frizz serum to prevent any frizz from the socks, which will be a lot

-no need for hairspray, unless you want the curls to stay exactly the way they are all day long. The curls are a little too much for me, so I like to leave them and let them get tamer throughout the day

-accessorize with a cute headband. It can add so much to the hairstyle. If you don't want to put a headband on, try pulling your hair back in a half-up half down way

5. Scrunched Carefree:
-when you shower, spritz sea salt spray into it

-put some anti-frizz serum into your hair to prevent frizzy hair

-put a quarter size of mousse into your hair and start scrunching for about 2 minutes

-then, use Aussie Sprunch Catch the Wave hairspray and spritz twice into your hand.

-separate the hair into 2 sections and scrunch it into 1 section. Then, spritz some more and then scrunch again

-put your hair into a tight bun and blow-dry until it is completely dry

-once your hair is completely dry, take your bun out and run your fingers through your hair

That's about all I can come up with right now, although I probably have a lot more, but whatever.

Back to School Studying Tips

You have to agree this picture is absolutely adorable. These are just some studying tips that I should be using throughout the school. I'm also tutoring my sister, so these would be some great stuff that would be able to help the both of us out. I'm a total nerd, because I get 95+ in practically every class, even Gym. Yeah, I'm no jock, but I try super hard, lol.

1. Try to be interactive with your studying. For example, you could be a talk show host talking about the Second World War (if that's what you were wearing) and you could be witty, crack some jokes, speak in a different accent, things that would make it slightly more fun that it would.

2. Figure out what type of learner you are and figure out some specific tips you can use.

3. When you write notes from your school, go home and re-write everything into a pretty notebook. Once you re-write stuff, it'll get imprinted more into your brain and you'll have to do less studying when it comes to tests.

4. Get pretty stuff when it comes to your stationary. Pretty stuff will convince you to come back and study, while ugly stuff is just like, eww...

5. Music can help you with your studying. You might be re-playing a song on your test and suddenly, the information will come flowing back to you.

6. When tackling homework, tackle the easy ones first. It'll give you more confidence to finish the harder stuff. However, if you prefer ending with the easy ones, just reverse the order. Find what fits for you.

7. Use your planner to write down all your homework, because your planner is your best friend. Once you're done with homework or some studying, check it off your planner. It'll make you feel better, accomplished. Alternatively, you could also do this with a to-do list.

8. Create cute little comics for scenes in History or procedures in Science. This is a really easy way to study and once you create comics, you can easily glance over it and then you get most of the important information in this. You also learn while you're doing the comics.

9. When memorizing important things, try using a mnemonic device. For example, say you wanted to learn the order in which the first four colours is presented in a Crayola box. They're red, green, orange, and yellow. Take the first letters of each word and then you get an acronym. Then, make a word with each letter and try to form a sentence that makes sense.

R- "Ridikulus!"
G- George
O- onimously
Y- yelled.

By remembering the sentence, you can remember the order.

10. You can also do acronyms. If you needed to remember the five great lakes of Canada, you would take each letter from the lake's name, put them together, and form an acronym.

H- Huron
O- Ontario
M- Michigan
E- Erie
S- Superior

11. Association is also another way of memorization. Say you were trying to learn the distinction between dessert and desert, you know that sand is in desert and sand only has one 's'. If sand only has 1 's', then desert only has 1 's'.

12. iTunes has some great podcasts of how to study, studying tips, procrastination tips, etc. Make sure to check them out and maybe even download them to your iPod, because most of them are free!

Back to School Outfits

These are my back to school outfits that I would actually wear. I'm not a frilly kind of girl, so these are perfect for me. I created these with Polyvore and I don't have most of these exact things- just things that look incredibly similar, which is actually kind of creepy. I've already decided my back to school outfit and I'll do a more in-depth Polyvore on it, although it's just included in my first Polyvore set.

I also have some hairstyles that I would think would look really good with each outfit, although most you can wear with whatever hairstyle and it'll still look absolutely adorable.

Back to School Outfits

1. Plaid: My ideal plaid shirt would be in red, because it's a passionate colour. Button it up all the way up and dress it down with a pair of denim shorts. Flip-flops will make it slightly too casual, so pair it with a pair of pretty graphic flats that are super cute. If you're uncomfortable with shorts, go with a pair of boyfriend capris.

Curl your hair and make a side ponytail, with a few curly tendrils framing your face.

2. Band Tee: Wear a grey or white tank top underneath a band tee. Choose a band tee that is slightly cropped, because the tank top will give it a super cute look. Pair it with a pair of distressed skinny jeans, but if that's too edgy for you, go with a pair of faded blue skinny jeans. Pair with flip-flops or a pair of Converse. I would wear something like the shoe above.

Spritz your hair with Aussie Sprunch Catch the Wave Hairspray and scrunch for a casual carefree look.

3. Back to School: Yes, this is my back to school outfit. It looks super simple, but I thought the distressed skinny jeans would give it a cooler vibe. I'll do a more in-depth Polyvore later, so I'll talk more about then.

Back to School

1. Sweatshirt: I wear a cute sweatshirt with a pair of faded skinny jeans and then some flip-flops to make it even more casual than it already is, lol. This would be a great Friday outfit, especially if you're hanging out with friends after. After all, who wants to look all dolled up for some awesome time with your best friends? Unless you go over to a friend's house and you need to impress her brother, which would never happen... for me, anyways. I was contemplating a pair of slouchy capris, put it on the set, and damn, did it look lazy. I would only wear that on a day I was running late.

2. Striped: Yeah, you can totally tell I'm putting a lot of thought into these names for the outfit, right? Sweatshirt, Striped, Plaid, I'm practically a poet, lol. I would wear a striped green shirt under a cute military jacket or whatever jacket that looks similar. I have this really cute jacket that looks like a military jacket, although it's much thicker (making it perfect for winter) and it has a really fluffy inside which is SOOO soft. I paired with a pair of distressed skinny jeans to give it an edgier look that isn't usually paired with a military jacket, giving it a more unique look.

3. School Hoodie: So, yeah, really similar to the first outfit. I have a hoodie from a junior high I don't go to (and I'm not lying- my sister's boyfriend gave it to me) and a University of Paris sweatshirt my dad bought for me. One is really big, one's kind of small, hmm... xD I like the University of Paris one better, so I would either pair this with another pair of faded skinny jeans or a pair of faded distressed skinny jeans. Bunching up the sleeves will prevent it from looking too small (since my sleeves are now 3/4) and then just wear a pair of pretty blue Converse sneakers that I own that look exactly like that. Seriously, it's like a walking American flag. Except I'm not American.

Back to School

1. Lazy: Again, another perfect Friday outfit. You could either look super athletic in this or just look casual and lazy. Take your pick. So, as always, pair this with a pair of flip-flops, because can you imagine wearing some pretty ballet flats with this look? That would just look plain weird. Wear a fitted t-shirt to prevent you look from looking too oversized. If you're going to wear big bottoms that don't hug your butt or legs, wear something tight on top. Then, you get a perfect balance.

2. Sweater: Dude, I'm on my way to a Nobel Naming Prize, yo. I'm so cool. Wear a striped tank underneath a v-neck sweater. The v-neck sweater I own almost looks like a bubble dress on me and it would look super cute (but short) if I actually wore dresses. I would just roll up my sleeves to give it a more casual look (because it's a little bit too dressy for me) and I paired with just some normal jeans- not skinny or anything. Then, a pair of sneakers that are like my everyday shoes I wear.

3. V-Neck Graphic: Okay, so I'm not that superficial to have a graphic tee completely dedicated to boys. Instead, this is dedicated to love and it just says Love Runs Deep. This is one of my favorite v-necks, because it's so long, so you can just scrunch it up. It'd look really cute with some distressed capris (just roll up some jeans) or distressed skinnies, whatever you feel like that day or depending on the weather. I would, again, pair it with a pair of flip-flops although if you were wearing them with the skinnies, I would go with some flats.

So those are all the sets I have the energy to do right now, so this should be super helpful when I'm actually going back to school.

Back to School Makeup

This is my back to school makeup look. Seriously, I need to jot all these things down, so I can remember. There are only about 2 looks that I use a lot, but there are a lot more that I really look. These are all super natural, because honestly, who coats their face with makeup a clown would wear? No thank you. I wonder how my makeup look will change over the months or whether I'll be even productive enough to wear makeup

Makeup Look Under 2 Minutes 30 Seconds:
1. Put on your moisturizer and sunscreen. Make sure to mix both in your hand, so you save time.

2. Take a white eyeliner and put it in your inner corner, the highest point of your brow, and your cupid's bow. Then, put it on your waterline.

3. Take a brown eyeliner and line it on your lashline.

4. Take a white eyeshadow and put it all over your lid. It'll just make your eye look brighter.

5. Take a black eyeliner and tightline your upper lashline.

6. Apply blush.

Neutrals Brown Makeup Look:
1. Put on your moisturizer and sunscreen.

2. Take the white shadow and put it in your inner corners. Then put it all over your lid.

3. Take a mocha brown coloured shadow and using a thin brush, draw from your inner eye to the other eye, putting a little bit more on the outer corners.

4. Take a blending brush and just blend outwards.

5. Take a white eyeliner and put it on your waterline, the highest point of your brow, and your cupid's bow.

6. Take a brown eyeliner and line your lower lashline with it. Then, use a black eyeliner and tight-line.

7. Apply a rosy blush over the apples of your cheeks and lip balm to your lips.

Pinky Brown Neutral Look
1. Doesn't Rachel Bilson look super pretty? Yes, she does. Apply moisturizer, sunscreen, and concealer.

2. Apply a cream blush over your eyelid.

3. Take a brown and apply it to the outer corner of your eyes.

4. Blend softly in place or outwards.

5. Tight-line your upper lashline with a black eyeliner.

6. Line your waterline with a white eyeliner, then a brown eyeliner so you don't look like a freaky alien.

7. For that pretty glowy blush look, smile with your teeth. Then put on blush on the apples of your cheeks until it practically glows. The colour will tone down, but it still looks really glowy.

Light Pink Look
1. Put a white shadow all over your lid. Choose a shimmery one to make your eyes look larger. Bring it into your inner corner.

2. Take a cream blush like Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush in Soft Plum, dip two fingers in, and put it on the outer corners of your eye. Blend lightly with your ring finger.

3. Optional- take a small brush, dip it in a brown shadow, and draw on your crease very lightly. Blend softly.

4. Line your waterline with a white eyeliner, then like your lash line with a brown eyeliner.

5. Tight line your upper lashline with a black eyeliner to make your lashes look thicker and longer.

6. Apply a light blush, or else there will be too much pink on your face.

7. Use a lip balm to moisturize your lips to keep them from getting chapped.

My 2010-2011 Budget

Back to School Wishlist

This is my awesome back to school wishlist. I don't wish many times, but when I do, it's a lot and most of times, I can't get it. That's why it's a wishlist. If only I had a fairy godmother... wouldn't that be the life, huh? I might even print this out when I go back to school shopping, IF I go back to school shopping. However, the stores I go to have so many little gems hidden in the clearance part that I wouldn't be able to just pick up the things I wanted.

1. Bluenotes As Amazing as Me graphic tee: $8- look to side
This is such an adorable graphic tee! I really need a legit cutesy graphic tee, seeing as I have none. Now that Bluenotes is having a Buy 1, Get 1 50% off, this is a perfect time to get myself 2 graphic tees.

2. Bluenotes Cherry Blossom graphic tee: $8 (normal price) $12 (combined with other graphic tee)
This is a BEAUTIFUL graphic tee! I love this so much. It's a v-neck, so it's not going to be like clinging to your collarbone, which I find so annoying. The sleeves are a little short for you, but you can always layer with a long-sleeve shirt underneath or a cute cardigan to dress it up. I would honestly wear this everyday. I saw a 'dupe' for it at Joe (Superstore), but it was like $12. The dupe is prettier, I suppose, but only slightly. They're both really gorgeous and I'm seriously gonna cry if this isn't at my Bluenotes.

3. Bluenotes Solid Cardigan with Epaulets in Oatmeal- $25
This is such a cute cardigan! Seriously cardigans is a STAPLE in your wardrobe. I only have 2 cardigans, so honestly I need more. I have a super long black cardigan, a striped blue cardigan, and now I need a grey cardigan. I love this colour because it's slightly white but the grey gives it a more casual non-blinding look. The buttons are also really cute and they look almost vintage. I hope I can find this cardigan for cheaper at Urban Planet or something. Otherwise, I'll have to let this cardigan go, cause I'm not paying 25 bucks for a cardigan. Yeah, I'm a scrooge, lol.

4. Garage Anything is Possible tee: $10
Garage has some really great graphic tees. They're not the cute stuff that you see everybody wearing around, but they have a slightly more grungy yet feminine look around it. Their material isn't all that great, so you would probably have to wear a tank or a cami underneath, but that could really look good and add more to the outfit. This should be on the sale rack, although I believe all Garage tees are $10. Garage stuff is always figure-hugging, so I'd buy it in a larger size and then scrunch it up a little bit. A slouchy tee, no matter how little it is, is really cute.

5. Garage Slim Flare Jeans: $15
I LOVE jeans. They're all I ever wear to school, unless I'm feeling lazy that day and decide to wear a pair of slouchy jogging pants to school. I don't normally like flare jeans, but these are really cute. Not to mention, I really need a pair of jeans that are a NORMAL colour for jeans. I have a lot of dark blues and light blues for my jeans, but never just a normal colour. Also, these are super cheap and they were cut down from $35 dollars at Garage, so you're saving 20 bucks on a pair of really cute jeans that you could wear anywhere.

6. Garage Skinny Jeans: $10
I honestly have never owned a pair of legit skinny jeans. I own straight-cut jeans that kind of look like skinny jeans, but I need to own a pair of legitimate skinny jeans that will actually hug my legs. I'm really short and skinny legs are supposed to make you look shorter, but I've seen a lot of short people wear skinny jeans and they look perfectly fine. This is also only $10, so it's a perfect pair of skinny jeans to get if you've never gotten one before. Urban Planet also has some great jeans for $10 in the clearance section and there are seriously at least 50 jeans there and I'm not exaggerating. Most of the jeans there are really nice, but some are garish colours. Who cares?! They're cheap as hell.

7. Ardene Long-Sleeve Top: $15
A cute long-sleeve slouchy top is a MUST! This is more like a sweatshirt than a top, honestly, so this would look great with a pair of skinny jeans or denim shorts. It would even look good with a pair of slouchy jogging pants, rolled up into capris, if you're going for the casual almost lazy look. Wear this with a pair of flip-flops and OMG, cute outfit! I can't wait to get something similar to this. I really hope the Ardene I go to will have this, because honestly, it's adorable!

8. Joe Fresh Striped Tee: $4.94
Okay, so I couldn't find a striped tee on Joe's website, but I got an Urban Planet one that's kind of close. The striped tee is green and there's no lame pocket. I have about 2 striped tanks and 1 striped shirt that have the ugliest sleeves ever, but I need a striped shirt that I can wear around without a cardigan or a hoodie everywhere. It's also really cheap and I'm still contemplating on whether I should get it. I probably won't be able to get a cheaper version anywhere else and it's on clearance, so.. yeah, I'm gonna get it, lol. I GOT IT! That's why it's crossed off.

9. Urban Planet Floral Print Top: $12.50

I honestly have no floral print top, which is kind of crazy. Floral print tops are a little bit too girly for me, but you can wear this floral print top with a pair of skinny jeans to make it more casual. Floral print tops are super cute, although I'm not sure whether I'll even buy this. Don't get me wrong, I love shopping, clothes, looking nice, but this floral top is a little over the top. I think they're supposed to be roses, but they look like strawberries to me, lol.

But I love strawberries, so who cares?

Urban Planet has some really cute stuff and it's my number 1 store that I love to go to. However, I only have like 1 thing that I would buy from it, looking at the online catalog. Besides, the online catalog lies, lol. There's so much more stuff on clearance and it's the best place to get some basic stuff. They're like 3 bucks for a casual v-neck top with a little pocket, 3 bucks for a tank, and DAMN! It is so cheap. Urban Planet, please never change. <3

10. Forever 21 Not In the Mood Tee: $5.99

I probably won't be able to get this tee, because the Forever 21 near me is about 20 minutes away and is only accessible by car, seeing as it's out of the city. Don't worry, I don't live in some stupid hick town, but the stupid BIG-ASS mall is located OUTSIDE the city. Like, what the hell? Gawd. This v-neck tee is so adorable! It's got attitude, but not enough to make the person looking at your shirt to be like, "WTF? LOL You're not like that." Because honestly, when I don't eat breakfast, I get cranky and I get worse than that. Forever 21 clothes are so cute and cheap! It's not as cheap as Urban Planet, but it's sure as hell cuter. I can't wait until I get my license and I'm able to drive there, without my parents or whatever. I also like the red lips, socks, and XOXO, adding a little pop of colour. This would be so cute tucked into a high-waisted skirt or a pair of jeans to go with that cute casual look.

12. Forever 21 Lightweight Plaid Shirt: $13.50

I saw an adorable plaid shirt the last time I went to Urban Planet and it was only $10! I will go back in hopes of finding that adorable plaid shirt. Not to mention, it was red, which is perfect, because no red in my complete wardrobe. If I don't happen to find a plaid shirt that is red or $10, I'll have to go to Plan F. And Plan F=Forever 21, that's for sure. It's $3.50 more and there seems to be no red, but I need plaid. If you can believe it, I have no plaid in my wardrobe. I know, I know, I'm a little late in the whole plaid trend, but I've never been one to follow them the minute they start. I hope they're still in style, because I'm completely in love with them. I'll wear them no matter what. For the longest time, I thought plaid was for country hicks and I apologize for stereotyping, because this is so cute! You can wear it as a cute cover-up, button it up halfway to give it a more casual look, button it all the way for a slightly less but still casual look. Pair it with a high-waisted skirt or skinny jeans with flats or some cute flip-flops. God, it's so versatile.

13. Forever 21 Fab Skinny Jeans: $11.50

It's a Fabulous Find and damn, I have to agree. It only comes in one colour and it's a pretty cheap skinny jean. I like how the dark indigo colour contrasts with the light thread that is used, which makes it so much classier. Skinny jeans (and many others) are so goddamn versatile and I thank the person who started this as a trend. Seriously, going around in skirts all days? No thank you. This would look really cute with a pair of pretty ballet flats, something that's more graphic than the normal metallic flats. I like the graphic flats better, because it adds more interest and pop to your outfit. So, if you ever see a pair of graphic-looking flats out there, pick it up, if it's at a reasonable price.

14. Payless Shoe Source Pivot Lo Skate: $14.99

I really need a good pair of sneakers, because honestly, I'm kind of pathetic when it comes to shoes. I have a pair of old dirty almost-grungy FILA shoes that will come handy for gym, because they're super comfortable and super ugly. I have a pair of flip-flops from Wal-Mart that are wearing out but are so COMFORTABLE! Then, I have another pair of sneakers that pinch my feet slightly, because it's about 1 size too small for me. I like skate shoes, because they're really comfortable and they're okay for trekking across snow when it comes to winter. That is like super important when it comes to shoes, because honestly, you don't wanna wear boots to school and then switch into a pair of flats when you get there. That's just plain weird.

That's a lot... I probably won't be able to buy all this stuff, but damn you, I'll try.
